The first cohort in Artisanal Mariculture Sciences and Village Farming was successfully launched in September 2024, followed by a second cohort in September 2025, confirming the growing interest and impact of the program.

As the seaweed farming training concludes this April, we are excited to officially reopen applications for our upcoming coral farming training. The next session will take place from May 4 to June 26, 2026.

A limited number of scholarships remain available — we encourage interested candidates to apply promptly and be part of this unique hands-on training opportunity.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

• Hold a Master’s degree or be an engineer in a field related to Natural Sciences or Social Sciences.
• Alternatively, candidates with a higher education diploma may apply if they have at least three years of relevant professional or personal experience in artisanal mariculture.

📚 Study Requirements

• Theoretical and practical courses are conducted entirely in English; a high level of English proficiency is required.
• Selected candidates may benefit from financial support depending on their country of origin. For applicants from African countries—particularly those supported by ARES—international travel expenses and a scholarship covering accommodation and living costs in Toliara may be fully or partially covered.
• Applicants from developed countries are required to cover their own international travel costs, accommodation and living expenses in Toliara (training location), as well as the registration fees.

🎓 Earn an International Certificate

This program leads to an internationally recognized certificate, jointly issued by:

• The University of Mons
• The IH.SM of the University of Toliara
• The University of Liège
